Toronto – Cinemavault is proud to announce sales on BLIND DATE, the
second remake in the Theo van Gogh Trilogy, directed by Stanley Tucci,
starring Patricia Clarkson and Stanley Tucci, about a couple desperately trying
to reconcile after the tragic loss of their young daughter.
An official selection at the Sundance Film Festival, the Sao Paulo Film Festival
and Film by the Sea, the US/Dutch co-production will be released theatrically
by Variance Films in the US this autumn. E1 has acquired US DVD & VOD
rights while the Sundance Channel has acquired exclusive cable rights.
Released theatrically in Benelux by A-Film, additional rights have gone to
Peace Arch for Canada, CCV for Scandinavia, Solopan for Poland, Spentzos for
Greece, HBO for Eastern Europe & Latin America, Rialto for Switzerland,
Maywin Media for CIS, Lusomundo for Portugal, Mars & Digital Platform for
Turkey, Front Row for the Middle East, Alliance for India & DBS for Israel.
Following the success of INTERVIEW, the first remake in the Theo van Gogh
Trilogy, starring Sienna Miller & Steve Buscemi, BLIND DATE will be followed
by SOMEWHERE TONIGHT, previously titled “1-900” which is set to film this
summer with John Turturro and Katherine Borowitz in the lead roles.
From producers Bruce Weiss of New York based Ironworks Productions and
Dutch producer Gijs van de Westelaken of Column Films, Cinemavault handles
the worldwide sales rights to the trilogy.
